Munchkin Monday: Decorationg Stockings

This is fun tradition in my husbands family.  We are all adults but love it.  I am sure kids would love it too.  Christmas Eve we all gather at his dad's house to decorate stockings.  He gets us lots of stickers, paint, etc to decorate.  Then Santa comes and  fills the stockings with goodies.

Foodie Friday: Raspberry Jello Pretzel Salad

We have this salad every year at Thanksgiving dinner in my (Tiffany's) family and have also had it at several other parties and special occasions. This recipe has been in my family for quite some time. I remember having this even when I was little. I know there are several versions of this salad out there, but I think my version is the best!

Raspberry Jello Pretzel Salad:
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3TBSP sugar
  • 20 oz can crushed pineapple
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 12 oz container cool whip
  • 6 oz raspberry jello or 1 container Raspberry Junket (Raspberry Junket can be found by the jello in your local grocery store. I use this when I make this recipe cause I like the way it sets up better.Plus it sets up a lot quicker than jello)
  • frozen raspberries
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Crush pretzels with rolling pin. Melt butter and then add sugar to butter. Pour over pretzels and mix. Press pretzels into bottom of a 9x13 pan. Bake 5 minutes. Cool. Beat cream cheese and sugar together til fluffy. Mix in whipped topping. Fold in drained pineapple. Spread onto cooled pretzel crust. Dissolve jello in boiling water, add frozen raspberries. Chill til syrupy. If using junket prepare junket as for pie glaze. Pour over cream cheese layer. Refridgerate til set. Garnish with whipped cream (optional).

DIY Thursday: Winter Wreath

I must like making wreaths. It gives my door-step that homey feel to it.  My yard or lack there of doesn't create that feeling at all.  I decided to do a Winter wreath instead of Christmas one because I could leave it up longer.  So I did a pinterest search and found one that I liked and took my own spin on it.  I think it turned out great.  I am excited to put it up soon.

Things you will need for this project:
1. grapevine wreath.  (I got mine at walmart, but I saw them at michaels)

2. Pinecones

3. Spray Paint. (I got silver for the pine cones and blue for the wreath)
4. Two kinds of ribbon (I got one that silver/sparkles and white.)
5. Glue gun
6. gems

1. I started out by spray painting my wreath and pinecones.

2. Make bows.  I found this site on how to make this bow.  You can find it here.

3. Glue gems to middle of finished bows.
4. Glue on pinecones and bows.
5. string ribbon through grape vine so you can hang it up.

This wreath was super easy and fun.  Hope you enjoy have fun making one too!
