Wild Card Wednesday: April Challenge

For this month's challenge I (Trinity) wanted to change things up a bit. Instead of giving some object to everyone to make I gave everyone a recipe and told them they had to make it and use it with something. The recipe was for homemade crescent rolls. The rules were they had to use the whole recipe, no leaving anything out, but they could add stuff to it. If they only wanted to use half, that was fine since the recipe makes a ton. Since it was for homemade crescent rolls, they weren't allowed to cheat and go buy the canned stuff. I think a few of them weren't happy with me ;) But I am not a big crafter (I dabble in a few things) but I love to bake and cook, especially making things from scratch, so I made all of them go outside their comfort zones. I'm excited to see what they all come up with....especially the stomach part of me =)

Danish Crescent Rolls

I think these turned out great, and I am excited for our breakfast tomorrow. So as you are reading this, think someone in the Terrace is eating them :)

Cinnamon and Sugar Campfire Treat

Want to have some fun this summer over the campfire????  This is one of my families favorites to have camping!

Harvest Garden Squares

These are so delicious and refreshing! They are great to take to any kind of gathering such as summer BBQ or if you're like my family we usually serve these at our New Years Eve party. The great thing about this is that you can add or take away certain veggies to satisfy your taste buds! Vote for me and I'll share this yummy recipe!

Cinnamon Crescent Rolls

I was probably one of the only gals that was excited to try this recipe out.  The great thing about it was the fact that I could make it in my bread machine.  I also was able to tweak the recipe & make it fat-free {except the frosting part}.

This recipe made 24 rolls, so I made half regular dinner rolls, and the other half....well I doused it with cinnamon & sugar & a yummy glaze.
These did not last very long in the house.

Bacon Cheeseburger Roll-ups

I loved doing this challenge....the only part I struggled with was trying to decide which recipe to do.  I have a list a mile long of things I like to do with crescent rolls.  Did I want sweet and savory or hearty and filling?  I'm actually still trying to decide as I type this which recipe to do (I made a couple since I knew I would have a hard time deciding and there were a few I wanted to try out anyway)........but I think I will go with hearty and filling since it has gotten the most thumbs up from the family.  The kids wolfed down seconds (they are the perfect size for little hands) and the hubby even had some more a few hours later and said they were still great.  If you want a family pleasing meal......vote for this one to learn how to fill up those bellies!

March Theme Challenge : Textbooks

So....the Girls thought that I was being really mean to them when I gave them this months item : Textbooks.

You see, my husband & I have collected many textbooks over the years, and when we were cleaning our bookshelves a couple of months ago, I was left with a stack of textbooks, waiting to be thrown into the recyling bin. That was, until I had the brilliant idea to give these suckers away.
So, I'm really excited to see what everyone has done. Please take the time to look through all the projects & vote for your favorite one ~ JeNae

Book Shelf
So this idea, yep, found it on pinterest awhile ago. I wanted to do this for our basement redo....I mean, you can't go wrong with cheap shelves. But as you can see, my shelf is not adhered to the wall, because my basement's not done yet, & I thought it would be silly to put it up just to take it down. But, can you get the just of it?? An actually book turned into shelf....genius!

Book Wreath
I will admit I wasn't too excited to see that our challenge item was a textbook. I had to get the wheels turning in my head for this one and try to come up with something that I would like and be capable of doing. I'm sure many of you have seen wreaths made from old books floating around on the internet or even in craft stores. These are pretty easy to make and really popular. I decided to make myself one and it looks great hanging right above the door heading out to our backyard!

Church/Scripture Bag/Purse
I was the lucky one that got the hard cover textbook =) I always have a bag that I carry my church stuff (okay.....it's a backpack because I have to carry stuff for me and to entertain my kids) But my little girl wanted a scripture bag but I didn't want to spend the money buying one.....(that is part of her present when she is 8....new scriptures and a carry bag) So I decided to make her one. So now she had a cute new church bag. It was actually pretty easy to make.....but you have to vote for me to find out how =)

Origami Flowers
I always love a good challenge! I thought of too many things to do with this stupid textbook, but finally settled on this fun little ditty. It kinda gets addicting...be forewarned!!!

Book letter
I had a hard time figuring out what i want to do with this book. I have done a lot of things in the past with books and I wanted to do something different and fun. I have been wanting to make this but have not gotten around to it and what better time to do it. You can make whatever letter you want. You could do the first letter of your child's name or your last name. So much fun to have on your book shelf.

Butterfly Mobile
I was one of the girls who struggled with this challenge! But now I have 3 ideas so there might be more posts later with those.  I know this looks upside down, but it is because I haven't rigged the hanging system yet. This is a fun mobile I am going to hang in my daughters room to encourage her to dream big and spread her wings!!!

Math Magnets

First of all, Happy PI day! (Not the dessert, the number 3.14, since the date is 3/14... we are totally geeky at our house!!) Nothing says "I love you" like a set of math magnets... I made these for my husband to hang in his den.
All Right......Now it's time for YOU to vote!

February Theme Challenge: Foam Sheet

For this month's challenge I, Tiffany, gave everyone a foam sheet to try and make something spectacular out of.
Check out what everyone came up with and vote for your favorite!!!

Do I need to say anything about this except it is super cool and I love it.
Talented Terrace Girl #2

So I've been stewing around for ideas this last month, not knowing what I wanted to make. Then I saw a particular link the other week and decided to run with it. My boys & I made Bracelets/Cuffs, but we added our names & phone #'s to make them ID cuffs. Not perfect, but it provided us with an activity for the afternoon.
Talented Terrace Girl #3
Purse

I wanted to make something fun for my little girl (no, that's not her holding the purse....my little guy was playing with it too =) ) She was so excited that I was going to make her something....she has been begging to play with it since I finished it but I told her she had to wait until I took pictures. The great thing about this, I was able to find a use for a bunch of scraps I had laying around. And it was super easy so vote for me so you can make one for your cute little one (and if you have a little boy, you can change up the colors and make a "murse" =) )
Talented Terrace Girl #4Chalkboard Mudroom Labels
This dollar store craft not only is great on the budget, but practical too! I ♥ organization!
Talented Terrace Girl #5

I decided to make a Valentine's Craft with my foam since I didn't have too many crafts for Valentines. On this craft I used the foam to spell out kisses and also for the little hearts at the bottom. I love it and so does my little girl! I hope I'll be able to keep her from eating all the kisses in one day!

Talented Terrace Girl #6
Foam Bath Valentine's

First of all I would like to make it known that the reason why one of the hearts is blurred out is because it has my name on it and since this is a secret voting challenge I didn't want to be caught cheating. But it really just might have something dirty written on it...I guess you'll never know....wink, wink. This is a Valentine surprise for my sweet hubby who always gets up early and showers while I lay in bed and sleep an extra hour. I fi
gure I will do this the night before and surprise him on Valentine's morning.

I have these in my bed room next to a big picture of my husband and I and our kids playing and laughing on the bed. I LOVE the picture so i wanted to put LOVE LIFE next to it and found this to be the prefect time. If you Love your life and want to know how to make these VOTE FOR ME!! (Sorry this is a bad picture)

Now's your time to VOTE!!!
