Sweet Tooth Tuesday: DIY Colored Sugar Sprinkles

DIY Colored Sugar Sprinkles

So, I am somewhat obsessed with glitter.
And when I found this post http://www.planetpals.com/craft-non-toxic-craft-supply-recipes.html on how to make my own, I was SO excited.  And then I thought....what if I used sugar instead of salt.
I love buying the colored sugar to decorate cookies and cakes with.  Well now I can make my own for pennies & get the exact color that I want!!!
Super excited right now ;)

I just followed the recipe and used sugar instead.  Here are the deets:

1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp liquid food coloring (or less, depending on the color you want)
Mix together well!
Now...DO NOT FOLLOW THE NEXT INSTRUCTIONS!!!  They only work if you use salt!!!!
Spread on a foil lined baking sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
Let cool.
Now, if you didn't listen to me...this is what you get:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!  Made me laugh so hard!  Of course sugar will melt when you bake it.  Live and learn people, live and learn.
Instead, just spread it out on the foil and let dry.
And now decorate to your heart's desire =)

Sweet Tooth Tuesday: No Bake Cookie Bars

No Bake Cookie Bars

My husband absolutely loves No Bake Cookies.
But lets face it, I'm lazy and I hate dropping them by the spoonful onto waxed paper.
Here's what I do:
Pour them onto a greased pan and cut them into cookie bars!!!
Easy peasy lemon squeezy!

Here is my recipe:

No Bake Cookies
1/2 cup butter (or margarine)
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
4 Tablespoons cocoa powder

*Mix these together in a saucepan.  Bring to a rolling boil.  Boil for 1 minute.
Stir in:
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 1/2 cups Quick Cooking oats
2 teaspoons vanilla

Pour into a greased pan, let cool & then cut into bars.

P.S. If you happen to run out of white sugar, & you are lazy, just use brown sugar.  It is still delicious & a little molassesy. (So not a word, but I don't care cause ya know what I mean)

Foodie Friday: Crockpot Lil' Smokies Appetizer

Crockpot Lil' Smokies Appetizer

Years ago, my friend's Mom made these for a party & I seriously have been dreaming of them since.  It's been like 12 years....yikes!
So I randomly came across the recipe on Pinterest and was so excited!!!!!!
Here is the link to crockpot365.blogspot.com's recipe!

So, this is how easy it is:

Put your Lil' Smokies in a crockpot (you can also do this with meatballs!!!).  Mix together 8 oz. of chili sauce (found by the ketchup...thanks crockpot365 for the heads up!) and 8 oz. grape jelly.  Pour on top and cook on low for 4 hours.  That's it.  And they are SUPER delish!!!!!!

Would be great to bring for one of your holiday parties coming up!

Fablifyit!!

Okay this fun post is going to be a little different than the normal! We are working with Melissa over at fablifyit or FabDecor. The Fablifyit is where you will see the fun projects and GIVEAWAYS!!!! and the FabDecor is where you can buy the wood, vinyl or the completed project.
Melissa gave Teresa a bunch of wood and vinyl that we are supposed to make the projects with and add our own little twists.

This weeks project that is starting today 9-12 is the Be Thankful.  The lovely Emily got to do this project =)

BEFORE:

DURING:
Just a little brown paint, some cute scrapbook paper and Mod Podge

AFTER:

Enter the GIVEAWAY ON FABDECOR!!!!!

The project for the last week. yes this is the last day to enter the giveaway (I was late getting the projects). Is the fun fall stacker, which i love especially the cute corn on the cob i made to go on it :)

Look at my super cute and tiny corn cob!!! (yes that is a dime) To make your own embelishments pull out some fun sculpty and get shaping! then bake according to directions. I used a plastic knife to put my 3d effect in.

I decided to stack my blocks kind of silly and off balance. It is a fun change and looks great on my new IKEA shelf!

A previous post that I still got to make the project was a pumpkin patch! If you want it you can still get the kit from her website or just the vinyl faces! I love the sassy faces, but really the coolest thing is the faces with whites of the eyes cause they are really WHITE! I love it cause the faces just pop off my blocks. (they would look weird with orange whites of the eye.
