Munchkin Monday : Easter Egg Dying

With Easter coming up around the corner, we thought that we would share some fun Easter Egg Dying tips!

Crackle Easter Eggs:

Crack the shell off the egg, lightly, so it all stays on. Place it in your egg dye. Depending on how dark you want them is how long you leave them in. Leave them in about 3 min for a normal color.

Silk Tie Easter Eggs:

This is my favorite way to dye eggs. We have done it the last few years. It is lots of fun and each egg is unique. You will need lots of different color ties. We get them at the DI for $1

When picking your ties they need to 100% silk. Good looking ties doesn't mean
a good looking Easter egg. The brighter ones turn out better.
Unpick the tie down the middle. There is a lining in the middle, take it out.
wrap the uncooked egg really tight and as smooth as you can get it to lay on the egg. tie the top with some string. Then wrap it in white cotton. we cut up a pillow case.
Boil for 20 min in water and ¼ cup white vinegar.
Cool the eggs in cold water for 10 min
The end result is always a surprise which makes this so much fun!

There are lots of fun ways to decorate Easter eggs. We would like you to go to our facebook page and post your favorite ways to do your Easter eggs and if you try some of our ideas we would like to see how yours turned out. We are exited to see all the fun ideas. On Easter we will be posting some of your pictures.
