Wild Card Wednesday: Spring Wreath

Spring is almost here.  I am eager to get outside and not be cooped up.  I thought I would invite spring by making a spring wreath.  I am ready to take down my winter one.  This wreath was easy and enjoyable to craft.
Here is what you will need:
-Different colored fabric.  (I found precut and matching fabric bundle at Joann’s with five different colors)  I would say ¼ a yard of each. (If that)
-yarn (coordinating color with your fabric)
-jewels or buttons (for the center of the flowers
-ribbon
-1/4 yard of felt (I found some in the clearance section for &.38.  That’s a steal.)
-foam wreath
-fabric scissors
-cup, mug or anything circular ( a circle that is the size that you want your flowers to be

1.       Wrap the yarn around the wreath.  When finished tie a knot between the beginning and the end.  Then hot glue to wreath so it won’t unravel.

2.       Trace circles onto fabric.  Cut out circles.  You will need 8 circles per flower

3.       Trace circles onto felt about the half the size of your fabric circles.  You will need one felt circle per flower. Cut out felt circles
4.       Take one circle and fold in half and then half again.

5.       Snip off a little of the point of the folded circle
6.       Do steps 4 and 5 to four of the circles.  These will be the bottom layer of your flower.

7.       Glue the four folded circles to the felt circle.  The center will make a square.

8.       Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the top layer of the flower
9.       Glue the other  four circles onto the top of the other folded circles
10.   Take a jewel or button and glue to the center of the flower

11.   Repeat step 4 through 10 to make other flowers.

12.   Glue the flowers to the wreath.

13.    Tie ribbon to wreath and hang up on the door.

DIY Thursday: a touch of color

This is something fun for summer and very cheap
I got a foam board at the dollar store and spray painted it with yellow that i already had and put flower stickers on it. I found these stickers last year on clearance and have been waiting for the right time to use them.

I put it up on my fireplace to add a little bight and cheerful color to the room.
I LOVE IT and it was so easy!

Wild Card Wednesday: "Bare Feet Welcome" Door Hanging

"Bare Feet Welcome" Door Hanger

I found this brilliantly lovely wreath on Pinterest.  That is the link it sent me to, so I am not quite sure where it originated.  If you happen to know please leave a comment, cause whoever did it is so stinkin' cute and I would love to see more of their ideas!!!!

So this is what I came up with using their wreath as a guide:

I used an old picture frame to be my base and wrapped it in furry green yarn.  The yarn I already had & the wrapper is long gone, but I saw a similar kind at Joann's.  It takes a long time to wrap, but the grass effect is totally worth every minute!  I just hot glued it randomly in spots as I wrapped.
Every material I used for this wreath I already had, except for the daisy buttons.  I also got those at Joann's.  ( I LOVE me some Joann's super deals!!!!!)
I cut small triangles out of fabric scraps and used embroidery floss to string it up.
The Purple polka dot ribbon I got at Michael's.  It was with their Easter stuff so I'm not sure if they still have any, but I'm sure they have something similar.
I am totally in love with this wreath and how Springy it looks!
Bare feet are always welcome when the weather turns nice!  One reason I love when Spring comes to our neck of the woods =)

DIY Thursday: Spring Door hanger

Who's ready for spring? I know i am so ready and what a better way to get exited then the cutest spring door decoration.
This took me all of 5 min
i already had this umbrella, if you don't already have one look at the DI or Walmart has some cute ones for a good price. All I did was tie a ribbon around it to hold up all the flowers and started stuffing spring flowers that I already had. I put a little bit of moss in it for a nest and I want to get a cute bird egg and bird to go in it.
hang it by the handle and you have the cutest spring door!
